Irony Defined

As you probably heard, the Pope made some interesting comments last week about Islam. He quoted an obscure 14th century Byzantine emperor who characterized some of the teachings of Muhammed as "evil and inhuman." The usual response - protests and violence all over the Muslim world. In Nablus (Israel) a Greek Orthodox church - not affiliated with the Pope - was firebombed. In a phone call to The Associated Press, an Islamic group calling itself the "Lions of Monotheism" claimed responsibility. The caller said the attacks were carried out to protest the pope's remarks linking Islam and violence. Go figure that one!

And you have probably seen this one. Israelis the nation most oftenmentioned in the Bible. But do you know which nation is second? It is Iraq! However, that is notthe name that is used in the Bible The names used in the Bible are Babylon, Landof Shinar, and Mesopotamia. The word Mesopotamia means between the two rivers, more exactly between the Tigris and EuphratesRivers. The name Iraq, means country with deep roots.

Indeed Iraqis a country with deeproots and is a very significant country in the Bible.

No other nation, except Israel, has more history and prophecy associatedit than Iraq.

And also, This is something to think about! Since Americais typically represented by an eagle. Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages...

The following verse is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible)

Koran (9:11 ) - For it is
written that a son of Arabiawould awaken a fear some Eagle. The wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah andlo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.

How in the world are you man? Numbers 1-19 are true, but the Koran passage is not - an "urban legend."
